About Zetor Zebra
Zebra was a North American tractor-import badge used by American Jawa in the mid-1990s. Despite the archive category name, the Zebra badge was not itself a Zetor company brand.
- Beginning
- Mid-1990s North American import program
- Founder / origin
- American Jawa, a tractor importer
- Known for
- Imported tractors from more than one manufacturing source, including HMT
- Sale / later history
- American Jawa later imported TYM tractors; exact Zebra end date not confirmed
History and legacy
The importer’s existing association with Zetor can make the Zebra name misleading. The archive states that Zebra tractors were not a Zetor corporate brand and included Indian HMT-built machines as well as Czechoslovakian tractors. A Zebra badge alone therefore does not identify one factory or establish a direct Zetor product lineage.

Index power values can include estimates derived from belt or PTO power. They are identified on each model card and are not interchangeable with a measured engine rating. Model years and missing values follow the source index.
