About Waterloo Manufacturing Company
Waterloo Manufacturing of Ontario built steam engines and agricultural machinery before a later small-tractor program. It is a separate Canadian business from the Iowa Waterloo Boy manufacturer.
- Beginning
- Steam and agricultural machinery business recorded in the late 1800s
- Founder / origin
- Waterloo Manufacturing, Waterloo, Ontario
- Known for
- Steam equipment, farm machinery and postwar small tractors
- Sale / later history
- Tractor manufacture was later discontinued; boiler-equipment business is separately documented
History and legacy
The Canadian company’s steam-era operations preceded its small tractor built after World War II. Its machinery history must not be merged with Waterloo Boy merely because the names and agricultural associations overlap. A verified individual founder and precise end date for the later tractor program were not established in the reviewed sources.
