About Unimog
Unimog is Mercedes-Benz’s multipurpose all-terrain vehicle family. With agricultural attachments, high ground clearance and power take-off equipment, it can perform work that overlaps with a farm tractor.

- Postwar development in 1946; early series production before the Mercedes-Benz era

History and legacy
The Unimog was conceived to combine transport and agricultural work. A prototype appeared in 1946, followed by series production at Boehringer in 1949. The business transferred to Daimler-Benz in 1950, with production at Gaggenau beginning in 1951. Its inclusion in a tractor archive reflects agricultural capability rather than classifying every Unimog configuration as an ordinary farm tractor.
