About Toro
Toro was founded in Minneapolis in 1914 to make engines for Bull tractors. It later became associated primarily with turf equipment rather than conventional agricultural tractors.

History and legacy
Toro’s early farm-tractor connection came through supplying engines. The company moved toward golf-course and lawn equipment in the 1920s. Its purchase of Wheel Horse brought a lawn-and-garden tractor line, while later product changes should not be interpreted as the closure of the Toro company.
