About Leader
Leader identified several American tractor ventures between 1913 and 1949, rather than one continuously owned manufacturer. Earlier Michigan and Illinois operations preceded a later Ohio utility-tractor range.

History and legacy
Leader Engine acquired Midland and joined the Dayton combination in 1915. Later Dayton-Dick and Dayton-Dowd activity lasted into the 1920s. The reappearance of Leader in Ohio should not be described as proof of uninterrupted corporate ownership.

Index power values can include estimates derived from belt or PTO power. They are identified on each model card and are not interchangeable with a measured engine rating. Model years and missing values follow the source index.
