About CO-OP
CO-OP tractors grew from farmers’ efforts to lower machinery costs through cooperative production. Later Cockshutt-built models replaced earlier designs, and Cockshutt bought the facilities in 1952.

History and legacy
Early Michigan-built tractors used Chrysler components, with production later moving to Indiana. After World War II, the E-series consisted of rebranded Cockshutt models. The sale ended the CO-OP tractor identity while connecting its facilities to an established supplier.
