About Barreiros
Eduardo Barreiros established Barreiros Diésel in Madrid in 1954. The Spanish diesel-engine and vehicle enterprise later came under Chrysler control, while its tractor production continued until around 1980.

History and legacy
Barreiros developed its own diesel engines and collaborated with Hanomag on tractors. The tractor line and the wider car-and-truck business did not follow an identical ownership path. A later Renault connection in older tractor accounts should not be treated as proof that Renault bought the whole original Barreiros enterprise.
