Why accounts give different starting years
TractorData uses 1865, while a detailed historical account distinguishes factory preparation from incorporation in 1867. The earlier date describes the establishment work; it need not contradict the later legal founding date.
From steam to gasoline, then a sale
The Mansfield business produced a broad machinery range before developing its gasoline tractor in 1910. Its large 30-60 became part of that tractor era. Advance-Rumely’s 1924 purchase marks the end of the independent company’s story, rather than an unrecorded disappearance.
